Really good views from the room overlooking the Minho River. Narrow streets leading to the hotel were challenging to navigate.

Pousada de Valenca do Minho is located at the corner of fortrese overlooking river Minho and Spanish town of Tui. Staff is very friendly and helpfull. Room was comfortable and view from the balcony beautiful.
We have visitied Pousada de Valenca after spending couple of nights in another pousada located in Northern Portugal, unfortunatelly both of them were shering the same menu. It would be better if each pousada has its own menu as there are unique anyway.

It offers amazing location and has attentive and caring stuff at the Reception Desk. Also, it's 3 km from Zamzam Well...

Fine views of the Minho River from the terrace.
The bike storage policy felt downright exploitative, charging an outrageous €7.50 for a small space that barely resembled a garage. The lack of basic amenities, such as a functioning TV and serviceable room furnishings. Not to mention, the restaurant's inflated prices paired with underwhelming flavors left us feeling cheated.

fairly clean accommodation, attentive and excellent staff at the reception desk. magnificent location in a quiet area so close to the castle as well as the ramparts of the former fort. plus, 10 minutes drive from safa and marwa hill. sumptuous units with a good view. lots of goodies for breakfast.

The setting and the history of the place were the two main reasons I would go back again to the place.

Attentive staff, had thoroughly enjoyable stay!!!
Location: the hotel was adjacent to shops and restaurants, the river in Spain and the ramparts. Booked a room with outstanding views over the river and into the next town.

I tell ya, the views from our room were just outta this world, lookin' over that river. The breakfast was great, 'specially loved havin' it in our room. The folks were real friendly, always checkin' on us. Some furniture could use a bit of sprucin' up, though. Don't forget to grab a cocktail on the terrace-best spot!

This place was wonderful in general with a helpful and caring staff team. The rooms were romantic, airy, and had a flat-screen TV with cable channels, climate control, and a mini bar fridge. The free parking was nearby, friendly service...

Spectacular setting
Poor staff; out breakfast experience on the last day was poor; and they decided to noisily move furniture about below our room late at night

Staying here with my family and our two dogs was a delight! The views from our room were fantastic, overlooking the Minho River, and we enjoyed guided cultural tours around the historic citadel. The spacious room with a balcony made our moments relaxing.
My wife says that the dining area could use more kid-friendly options.

Magnificent site particularly from dining room but also from bedrooms
Why no free internet access for guests? It seems a bit mean to charge a few euros for access given the prices in general. Access is difficult through the 2 castles and poorly sign-posted, particularly coming from the east.
